Yes fellow modellers it’s shipping to those lucky few who have parted with their hard earned cash.
I can say that the poduction version of this model (limited run of 1000 guns) is just simply fantastic, and I fully intend to review this on my website as soon as I can. The kit is over 3000 parts and are packed well with ID on the bags as well as boxes. Also included is a double railwaybed 2 metres long which in itself takes up one of the acking boxes inside the main box as well as metal rails and photoetch parts.
It is an expensive and large kit but so worth the money and the time invested to build this huge model. I’m looking forwards starting it when I move into my new house… although I could be persuaded to start before.
For those who have thought abot getting this kit but have been put off by the price I can say that it is worth every penny and if you don’t get one then you’ve lost out in a wonderful limited edition of a huge weapon of war.
Thaks Soar Art for a magnificewnt and fantastic kit.
I have my own website where I post my own OOTB reviews on models amongst other things.
I haven’t got any pics at the moment but when the Dora OOTB review is on my website I’ll post a link here on the forum for you.
My site has been pretty quiet for a while as I have been busy building a new house, but that will change once I’m in my new place and settled. Iwill try and get a review of this kit ASAP and post a link on the forum here
This is awesome James. I envy you. I almost convinced the wife. the problem is not the money but more like “where the hell I’m gonna put this.” Until I find a good answer to this question, I wont have one.
I’ve heard of others starting this project having trouble with the parts responding to normal styrene glue and having to resort to epoxy or other industrial strength bonding agents, something to watch out for.
can you point me to a discussion on this. the plastic seems harder than normal, but there are some very large parts Which do require some solid plastic for rigidity… and I mean large!
I’m one of the first in Europe to get this 1/35 Dora and it looks and feels like normal modelling plastic… except that some of the large parts are much thicker plastic than the rest of the kit… but there again they need it. I’m interested to what other Dora owners have to say.
I found this one on EBAY, 0.99 (for know) and $80 shipping. I guess the shipping for such large an item will cost that much anyway. Could you post some pics of the parts and box please.
