I found a set of painted Mecklenburg 1st Infantry (1806?). Trying to find info on who sell these figures. Anyone?

I came across 2 beautiful sets of miniature figures (beautifully painted). One is a set of Mecklenburg Infantry 1st Batalion, and the other is 124 Foot Soldiers with bayonets (also painted). Some horse soldiers and cannons as well… I’ve searched for the maker of these figures but came up empty handed. Does anyone know who sells such a set? I would like to either purchase more, or if I can’t get more, sell these to start a later period army… Any info would be appreciated. I can send pictures if anyone needs them.

Pics would help. Have you tried Britains?

I’ll second Easy Mike–do you have any photos? What scale or size are the figures? Plastic or metal?

You can hear the e-crickets chirping…

Hello? Is this thing on?

Sorry bout that… was away and playing… LOL

I posted on you tube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocWBK8B43Hc

You can see scale of the figures there, about (28MM) 1-1/8 to 1-1/4". Sorry about the blurry quality of the close-ups in the video. They are all metal, posibly lead (not plastic). The set in the front is the Mecklenburg 1806 army, or so stated. The rear set is also same war time period.

Sierra Toy Soldier Co. has a set in their Britains Connoisseur Collection , which is the second set called Battle of Friedland, sculpted by Alan Ball with the master painted by David Youngquist. I don’t know what their first set was? Those are from 1807 so they are close, but only sold as the entire set. Could it be that is how these came too? Also very similar to these Napoleonic old guard http://www.sierratoysoldier.com/ourstore/pc/CS00482_CS00489-Complete-Set-of-Old-Guard-Sets-CS00482-CS00489-944p9329.htm

I added another video of pictures. Here you’ll get clearer look. The are definitely Napoleonic…

Thanks for the links and the video, OC!

I can say that they are definitely not Britains. Britains makes figures in 54mm and has never made anything remotely close to wargaming sizes.

There are many manufacturers of wargaming-scale figures, and your may come from any of them. I’m more familiar with the manufacturers of plastic small-scale figures, like Airfix, Hat, Zvezda, so that’s about as far as I can take you.

I will offer a suggestion to try the toy soldier and figure forums, too. One is Treefrog Treasure’s Toy Soldier forum: http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/forum. I’m a member over there, and there is a great wealth of knowledge, including some guys who know more about the smaller figures. Also, try PlanetFigure, www.planetfigure.com/forums. That’s more of a painter’s and connoisseur collector’s forum, but there, too, are many who work with smaller scale figures, so you may be able to find more info about the figures you’ve bought.

Hope that helps, best regards,

Brad

Thank you very much for your help and links… At least I have a direction to step forward to…

And anyone else that can give me any insight, please post…
