I finished it! USMC AV-8B

Oh boy…Pat Hawkey won’t like this at all![:D][:D]

OK, I told you guys all about the problems that I had with this kit in a previous post, I made a ton of mistakes on this kit…and then every single decal broke up on me too![banghead]

This is the 1/48 Hasegawa kit with Eduard PE in the cockpit, I followed Hasegawa’s paint instuctions and as you can see the greys on this model are not right for a USMC Harrier, I left this as it was purely because I liked they way it looked. It is a good kit, I was just having a bad month when I built it[%-)][#wstupid][D)]

Anyhow, its done now and as I bitched and moaned about it so much I thought it only fair to share the horrendous results with you guys…feel free to tear it to pieces.[:-,][:-^]

Darren.

I like it, canopys a little fuzzy but i think you did a pretty good job evan with the issues you had.

I love it, Darren. I’m really glad you stuck with it! Personally I like the weathered look, and as this was the look you were after, I’d say well done!

Now you need to find a little Arnold Schwazzeneger figure to put in the cockpit (as in “True Lies”)!

Congrats on seeing it through to a fine ending!

WOW I will be happy if my first one turns out a quater that good…good work!

It looks excellent. If you didn’t state it, i wouldn’t have known you had problems with it. It’s at least 46.7533333 repiten times better than anything i could do. (see, to calculate that number, one must divide x by r and then multiply by t)

Thank-you, all of you!![bow][bow]

I thought this one would get ripped to bits, you have been very kind to me and I am very greateful to you, thanks for stopping by and giving it the once over[tup][;)]

Cheers![#toast]

Darren.

Never done a jet before. If I do, thats the way I would want mine to look. I love it. Great job.

You call that Weathing ???/ I think it needs more… sorry Pat [:-^]

Cool Build, looks Good

Bud

hmm… jack, it doesn’t quite work out… check the equation again. [:D]

oh BTW, EXCELLENT JOB!

Hee! Hee! Hee! [:D][:D][:D][tup]

Thanks for the kind words guys, its made the build worthwhile[tup][;)]

Darren.

Tell Arnie to go be Governor of California or something, give me Jamie Lee Curtis anytime. Even if she has been augmented with some after market parts.

Tango, That is ONE SHARP HARRIER! OUTSTANDING JOB! I think it looks fantastic just the way it is.

Well Done!

I hope one day i can consider something of that calibre one of my “horrible” models. I know I’d be happy to turn out a harrier like that. Nice job.

[tup] Thanks guys, your comments are much appreaciated. I am now working on an Airfix FRS1 Sea Harrier, its not exactly the best kit in the world…Still, I’m enjoying doing something simple for a change, I’ll get some pics up when I get some paint on it.

Darren, and the best thing about it all is not only do you now have a cool Harrier on your shelf, but you’ve become a better modeler because of it.

However bad your month may have been, it still looks great in the pictures, Darren!

Looks awesome! I like the dirty used look… I doubt the Marines take the time to wax every plane when it comes back! Very nice build!

You sure are right about that mate! I have perfected repairing broken decals to a science!![:D][:D]. I dunno what happened with those decals…usually Hasegawa decals are pretty good in my experience, I guess they just went the way of the pear…[banghead][%-)]
