I would like to add a hurricane to my collection, and since I’ve never built one, I’d like to ask who makes the best 1/48 kit. Thanks in advance.

Hasegawa IMHO.

Thanks Rick, I knew I could count on you.

I agree with Rick, Hasegawa all the way…
Steve
Yep. Hasegawa all the way.
The trailing edge of the lower wing piece runs through the fabric area of the lower fuselage. Filling and cleaning this can be a bit of work, but the Hasegawa kit looks like a Hurri when finished. The fuselage also fits best if you glue the nose halves to the fuselage halves first, rather than joining the two assemblies.
Hope this helps !
Yuppers, Hasegawa, I’m just finishing mine and it went together like a dream (almost).
Yep, gotta agree with the above.
Pix that hurricane is mind-blowing. If I strive for thirty years my kits will never be that good but it’s something to strive for. Keep on posting and I can then drool over them…Thanks a bunch.
The Hasa kit is well worth a look.
As Pix says the rear wing to fuselage join could have been handled better, and some of the mix and match sections, ie wing leading edge don’t fit as well as you might expect of a Hasa kit.
Probably the worst part is the main wheel bay insert which has 8, yes 8!!! dirty great ejector pin marks on the visible face!!! Save yourself some time and trouble, and buy the resin replacement from Ultracast, see link below;

The cockpit seat and armour update from Ultracast is also worth a look.
Karl.
Knowing full well that Hasegawa is considered the “creme de la creme” of the HUrricane, I picked up the Hobbycraft kit that includes photo-etched parts. How does this one build up? How much “below” the Hasegawa is it?
The Hobbycraft kit is a copy of the older Airfix kit. I built one years ago, long before the Hasegawa kit was released. It fits OK, but has some detail & dimensional issues. If Hasegawa is an 8, Hobbycraft would be a 6 IMHO.

Haha, I was about to post asking what hurricane kits would be the best too, for I wanted to build because I saw the history channels The hurricane that saved britan and have been fasinated with them ever since(3 days).Saved me the trouble,.
ANYWAYS, I would go with the Hasagawa kit.
Hasegawas kit is the best around
Revell have reboxed the Hasegawa IIC so if you see that grab it, it’s likely to becheaper than the Hasegawa one. I’m building one at the moment, seems to be going togther well
Only complaint is the original Canopy is closed, even cutting it to have it open doesn’t look feasible as it wouldn’t fit properly, I picked up a Vac formed canopy for mine.
