Hello armor forum[:D]
I just recently picked up the new 1/72 scale HMMWV from Revell-Germany.Low and behold, there’s sprues for (2) vehicles, and optional parts for three different variants!
I loosely tape-fitted the parts to get an idea of the size of it when completed. Here it is next to a quarter:
I plan on painting it in desert camo.I am not sure what the interior color is on these vehicles. Also, I need some info on the underside color; the drive train, and body panels. Is the frame and drivetrain gulf sand color?, od green? or black or grey metallic range? I would appreciate any help you good folks could steer me in. One of these little dudes is going to be sent to an associate who was in the gulf war one, in 91’. I want to do a good job on it for him![;)]
I’m mostly a prop head on the aircraft forum, but I do like armor too. Thanks in advance for your technical assistance,

Interior color differs on whether or not the vehicle was originally NATO scheme (forest green inside) or factory sand (then sand inside too). If it was over painted sand, the interior remains solid green.
Soft tops carry the camouflage pattern inside, hardtops remain solid green inside.
The frame underneath is black and would have a green underside if NATO schemed and sand underside if it was factory sand painted. A NATO scheme overpainted sand would still have a green underside.
For ODS (1st Gulf War) the interior color would be three color NATO scheme or dark green. The vehicles were repainted when they were sent to the gulf and the interiors wer left alone. The underside, chasis, and running gear is usually flat black. Fuel cell is white or black plastic, transmission, other engine parts vary from black, to grey, to steel.

Here’s a couple of 1/72 Dragon kits I built for my friend already, He says he has them proudly on display at his home. I think this little humvee will compliment his collection.

Nice M2 and M1! I just recently got the 1/72 scale Dragon M2, but was hoping to build it with NATO three-tone camo. Still, yours gives me a standard to work toward.
I want one of those Humvee kits too! I may buy two!
Man I can’t beleive the detali o those littel hummers and you get two! i gotta pick that up!. I just learned something too. i didn’t know the fuel cell could be black or white. I have 6 1/35 hummers in progress on the kithen table now! Some genious around here placed or knocke one onto a kitchen cahair lat night and I sat on it! “Luckily” all I got was a broken wheel! I love building hummers even if the wheels suck on the 1/35s [excluding the new Tamiya of course].
