What is the best thinner to use to thin Humbol enamel paints? Will tamiya enamel thinner be okay?
Why don’t you try Humbrol enamel thinner. It’s made especially for those paints. As for Tamiya enamel thinner, I don’t see why it shouldn’t work. All of those enamel thinners are pretty much the same thing. If you’ve got some, give it a go and see what happens.
hope this helps.
Humbrol has its own thinner. But I have used Testor thinner on it and it works quite well. My Testor thinner also works on Tamiya enamel and Tamiya/Humbrol mixture enamel paint. Therefore I assume Tamiya enamel thinner might most liker to work on Humbrol.
Thanks a lot for the help ,as I was just a bit concerned with spraying it through my airbrush!
Unlike acrylics, enamels aren’t very fussy about the brand name of the thinner as long as it’s intended for enamels. Plain old turpentine or mineral spirits from the local Hardware store will be less expensive & work just fine.
