Humbrol / Model Master equivalents

I think I might build the old Airfix 1/72 Javelin for my next project, but need to figue out the Model Master equilavents to the two colors needed - Humbrol 163 dark green & 164 dark sea gray. I’ve checked around & the conversion charts I’ve seen don’t have an equivalent for those two colors.

Humbrol 164 is equivelant to Model Master 1723 / 4752 Gunship Grey

Humbrol 163 is equivelant to Model Master 1710 / 4726 Dark Green (FS 34079)

My go-to conversion chart is here:

Simply check to the both paint brands and you will see them. However, it comes down to a science because sometimes a certain color will be the same as a different shade. Choose what you think is the best match and go from there.

Better yet, enter the FS number in the search area. You’ll have better luck this way as well.

The RAF use BSC standard colors, not FS standards. The two Testors colors mentioned are close, but not exact matches to their Humbrol originals. As long as you are not trying to match the same color already painted on a model, you should be ok.

Model Master does makes some shades matched to the WWII RAF colors.

Thanks for the info, and the link to the conversion chart.
