How would I go about making one of these. I belive they were used to find the range. I belive scouts used them.
You’re referring to aiming stakes. These weren’t used to discover ranges. Two would be set some distance behind the artillery piece. The aimer would use these to calculate azimuths for fire missions. AT guns would not normally be issued these as the firing calculations would be for indirect fire.
Paint your stakes white, then mask with tape, paint it red.

Use thin gauge wire to make these. A straightened paperclip would work.
