How to remove glue on plexiglass?

I recently glued together a plexiglass cover for my B-17 diorama. I used Weld on #4 for the seams and I have some spots of glue in a few areas. Does any one know how to remove this glue from the plexiglass cover without fogging or scratching the plexiglas?

Oh man…if you used Weld-On, I’m pretty sure that you’ve ruined that you can’t remove it.

Weld-On melts plastic together. SO if it does the same to plexiglass, you’ve ruined that area.

You can sand the spots out with very fine sand paper. Use progressive grades of wet or dry sandpaper from 1500 to 12000 grit. You can get Micromesh at.

Use the miracle tool…fingernail polishing stick. Polish out using a little water, maybe a drop of dishsoap in a pint of water…once you have it as clean as possible break out the plastic polish to take it the rest of the way. BTDT myself on occasion. Probably too late to warn you but for others reading this…if you get excess Weld-On or other solvents on plastics DO NOT TOUCH IT! DO NOT WIPE IT! Let it dry it is much easier to remove the solvent spot than it is once you’ve imprinted your finger in it.

Sanding and polishing is all you can do.

I used to have to sand and polish out large fogged areas on fish tanks at the place I worked at.

We used weld on #3,4 and 16.

We had scratch kits with fine grades of wet/dry paper than used turtle wax or Magellin auto polish with a soft cloth…

Eric…

Thanks everyone for all your help! I guess you have to live and learn the hard way sometimes. I am sure i won’t make the same mistakes with the next case that i put together.
