When removing paint from a small area, I use Testors Decal and Paint Remover: http://www.testors.com/product/137350/F542143/_/ELO_Paint_&_Decal_Remove_8oz.

The stuff works awesome. Put a little bit on a cotton swab and just wipe the paint off. No damage to the plastic at all.

I have the Testors ELO decal and paint remover too. I’d wear a respirator when using it though. The fumes are strong and I felt like I was seriously sniffing glue before I started wearing a respirator. But the stuff works pretty well.

Brake fluid works for me.

I recently had to figure out how to do that myself (/forums/1081281/ShowPost.aspx).

Doog suggested Simple Green, and once I allowed my model to soak, the paint came right off. I am convinced that the damage my model suffered during the process was due to me using mineral spirits first and being very heavy-handed with a tooth brush.
