I’ve beeb buying this stuff since my 35 year hitus from moddelling & doing mosly Dio’s.I’ve already figured out the ingrediant.Water & PVA glue. But what proportions & good ol’ elmers or elmers wood glue.Any help will be appreciated.Hate to say I’ve gotta tighten the budget belt. And ya gotta start some where. Thanks ahead , rudedog
I don’t spray it, but I mix white glue and water at about 1:1 ration and brush it on my bases to attach static grass or turf . For shrubbery, I use the glue full lstrength. I then typically seal the base with aerosol hair spray and a light coat of Dullcoat from the airbrush.
thanks Al,But why not spray it [ which I’ve been doing with woodland scenics ] ? And do you use elmers white or carpenters glue ? Thans again Mr. Lafleche. Semper fi ,rudedog [keith f/ chicopee ]
I use Elmer’s type from sources like CVS, basic white PVA glue. I brush it on because, generally, the areas I want it are pretty small, 2 inches square or less and I may also be only applying grass/ground cover in specific places and need more control. If I were doing something significantly larger, I might mix up enough to put in a spray bottle. Then again, I might just buyt a bottle of th commercial stuff and save myself the trouble of mixing.
I see.makes sense with your large scale figures.
