How to make a realistic rear view mirror reflective?

Any ideas on how to make a rear view mirror look convincing. I have tried punching out a foil disc for the reflective surface and then addind a drop of Future for the glass. It still doesn’t look realistic. [bnghead]

I usually use BareMetalFoil or, to go cheap, I take a little piece of chips’ bag (one of those which are silver inside - it’s the silver side that does the trick) and make the “mirror” inset with it. I’d say it works up to 1:24 scale. If not - then I don’t know. But the question is interesting nevertheless. Hope it helps, have a nice day

Use Mylar (the chip bag) or BMF, then polish the surface of the clear coating that you put over it.

Thanks both for the idea. Now, on to the kitchen in search of a chip bag.

Thank you both very much for your suggestion, it worked like a charm!!![Y]

Glad to hear that, have a nice day
