How to get movable treads for an animation?

Hello everybody, quick question here. Do you know of any WWII era tank models that feature moveable treads? I’m looking to do a stop motion animation, and it would be very useful if the treads were able to move. Failing that, if anyone has experience with converting kits to moveable treads, or faking the movement, that would be great.

I’m looking for a WWII era tank just because that is my favorite, but I am open to other models. I would also prefer a german build, perhaps a Tiger or Panther II. As for scale, I can work with either 1/35 or 1/72. I imagine 1/35 would be better because of the greater detail for closeups, but I’ll take whichever is available.

Thanks for any help you can give me, this community seems awesome and I’m looking forward to being a part of it with my other model building endeavors.

Many of Tamiya’s armor kits designed in the 1980s and 90s, including German tank kits were also released as mortorized versions. Some are even wireless remote controlled.

Here is the RC 1/35 scale King Tiger: http://cgi.ebay.com/1-35-Tamiya-R-C-WW2-German-KING-TIGER-Tank-Kit-NIB-/160568576021?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2562a20815
