How to get missing pieces from Revell of Germany?

I have an He-177A-5 Greif in 1/72, and it came with several pieces off the sprues and two pieces missing: Some kind of periscope in the cockpit and the loop antenna. Is there a way to get the missing pieces? I live in Perú. Best regards.

José.

Hi Jose,

you’re supposed to send the barcode on the side of the box, plus the kit instructions, with the misssing parts circled, back to Revell in Germany, with a note expaining the problem. In practice, sometimes this gets you your replacement parts, and sometimes it doesn’t.

Given where you live, I think you’d be better off scratchbuliding replacements. If you can let me know which aprts are missing, I can send you photos of the missing parts from the kit that I’ve got in my stash.

Cheers,

Chris.

I’ve had good luck with simply E-mailing them at their main site, www.revell.de. No, they usually don’t e-mail me back, and it usually takes two months to get the parts, but I have yet to pay for any of them.

If you aren’t in any rush, this is an option. If you’re eager to get building, I’d say scratchbuilding is the best bet.

In my experience, just buy one of their kits (the bigger the better)

and you will get missing pieces [censored]

Thanks a lot for your replies, I’ll make two DB610 engines, one of them with the engine hatches opened, and the other closed (yes, two of them, the other should be visible through the main gear bay), so those pieces should be easy to make as well. Chris, the missing pieces are #40 and #111, the pics will help to give them the correct shape. Thanks again. best regards.

José.

Roger that, José. I’ll send you pictures of the parts tomorrow morning, British time (it’s 1953 here at the moment).

Cheers,

Chris.
