How to do panel lines?

I have a fairly basic question: How do I get the panel lines on my models to stand out? For instance, I have a couple of 1/2 Hasegawa sci-fi kits (Macross planes, to be specific) with white paint overall and showing sharp, black panel lines and details(on the box art, at least). I have heard of making “washes” to finish panel lines, but I don’t know exactly what they are, how to apply them or when. Could I get some help?

EDIT: Maybe this should be in the “Techniques” Forum? Oops!

Hi there and you’re right Martacus this would probably be better off in the techniquies forum.
Here’s a couple of links that give you the low down on washing panel lines.

Thanks! That’s just what I was looking for. Sounds easy enough.

It is real easy with the future on it!! If it doesn’t look right you can take it up before it dries!

Good luck!
