I decided to try and make seeker heads for aim-9’s using micro crystal clear white glue. Anybody have a sense for long it takes to go clear?

about 2 hours thats how long i wait
i have to agree…but what makes a real difference is how much/thick you put it on. i had it take as long as 20 hours.
Drying time can vary, depending on the thickness of application and the ambient temperature (Krystal Kleer dries by evaporation) - the warmer it is, the faster it will dry. For something the size of an AIM-9 seeker head, it should be dry (clear) within an hour at normal room temps.
It will dry “from the outside in” meaning it will skin and the surface will dry first, then it will dry “inwards” towards the centre. This also means shrinkage due to loss of the water base. If you are making a raised dome (like a seeker head?) it is preferable to apply a number of thin layers to build up the shape.
