How good are Eduard Accessories’ photo etched parts kits? Are they a goodbrnd to go with or should i look else where?
I’ve never had reason to complain about them! Love 'em!
In my opinion they are the best. I have never had any problems with them at all. Huge range as well which means that most requirements are covered.
Ok thanks alot for the info, i was looking at buying some since, Great Models has some on sale, so thanks again.
Eduard makes a good set of PE. However, Eduard is generally not as detailed as Aber. The Aber sets are excellent and for the modeler who wants it, unbelievable detail right down to the nuts and washers. I’ve used both and recommend both.

The new Eduard color sets set a new high standard for AM PE.

Or planes Eduard is the way to go. Aber is the standard for armor.
I’ve used many Eduard sets on aircraft with few problems.
Love the eduard phototech color stuff ,
One more thing, how good are their colored PE kits, as far as detailed goes compaired to the non colored kits, is it better to color a non color or get the colored version from the get go?
I just received in the mail all the Eduards PE for the CH-46E…including color panels…man they take my breath away…lol the detail is INCREDIBLE!! I really enjoy Eduards products, and also received the Glamorous Glennis Profi Pack, and the limited Nieuport-17 profi-pack. I can’t wait to dig into those bad-boys!!
Kik, I’m building the Nieuport Limited Edition for a review right now, and it is a real jewel. I’m doing the early Russian Revolution version with the large bats on either side. The Soviet markings, instead of having the hammer and sickle, feature a silhouette of a plow, since the familiar Soviet hammer and sickle logo had not yet been adopted in 1917. The kit also has marking for two Czarist planes, one with a very naked mermaid on the side.
The markings in these limited edition kits are what the 'Limited Edition" is about. Eduard researches the type, and finds the most colorful, most interestingly painted versions they can, and prints up new markings with outstanding color and, with the kits I’ve got so far, perfect register. Otherwise, the kits are almost identical to the original Profipak versions with masks, PE parts and some with a little resin, and the price is about the same. Eduard claims they are only making 1000 copies each of the limited edition series, but don’t believe it. I have all six that have been released so far, and the Nieuport is the only one I’ve started. The others I just take out and look at the decal sheets from time to time. All but the La-7 are in 1/48, and all but the La-7 and Bf-108 in Foreign Service are WW I subjects.

I’m planning on getting the interior/exterior sets from Eduard for my Phrog. I really think they add something to the kit. The few that I’ve used really are nice for those fine details. Plus, you can pick and choose just what you want to add, and those extra pieces come in handy on other kits as well (I used some intrument panel bits from a Mosquito on my A-10 to add detail).
I got hooked on them thanks to MPM models. It is truly amazing just how much of a difference the “little” things make. I am currently using Eduards detail set for AMT’s 1/48 Tigercat. If the rest of the aircraft turns out as nice as the engines…well thanks to them an ape-handed individual such as me can make a good looking model!
