im on a budget, i need some primer and i need some putty, does Mr surfacer 1000 work well ? how do i use it ? if its not worth dealing with ill spend a few bucks on some realy epoxy puttty, but if its a fair substitute, id rather be economical.
I’d like to know how best to use it as well. I bought Mr. 500 and 1000 and want to use them as added texture on russian models. Sure hope somebody can give some advice.
I don’t think it’s a substitute for putty. It is good for surface irregularities (like slight scratches etc) and smoothing things out for your final colour coat. It could probably be used for filling small gaps but not much more. If you’ve got the spray can, just spray it on evenly. However I haven’t used the new bottle stuff so I could be wrong.
One other thing, don’t spray Tamiya TS spray can paint over it. It takes about a week to be even start to harden.
thanks for the heads-up pingtang, i was about to lay on some nice yello for my enzo, ill pick up a can of white tamiya primer.
