Hi Guys,
I’ve got a bit of a problem. I have this canopy that’s slightly cracked and would like to know if there’s a way to fix it so the fracture is invisible when repaired. Thanks.

I tried to fix a crack in a canopy a little while ago, didn’t work. I tried to use Future to fill the gap, which it did, but the crack itself is still visible. I did manage to muck up the painting so bad that the crack isn’t noticable. Sigh. I’m going to order a new vacuformed canopy and try again, once I get the gumption back to finish the kit.
What canopy from what kit, what scale? I might have something in my spares box.

I don’t know about plastic_monkey, but mine’s a 1:48 Tamiya Mosquito. [:-^]
My first thought is replace it with a vacform subsitute from Squadron or other vacform retailer, do the old “heat and smash” replacement ruotine, get a clubmember to fix it for you, or do what I did with my PkA HO and use it as battle damage. Gave me a reason to create a better looking display around the figure .
I know of no way to actually repair clear plastic where it will have an invisible repair that will not refract light.
if it is a newer model still in production maybe contact the company for replacement?
