I was in my LHS a couple of days ago and came across a Dragon kit of I think it was a Tiger or something similar in the looks department. It was definetly a WWII tank and it was in 1/24, and was either $70 or $90AUD. How long would a 1/24th Tiger be from barrel to stern and how wide, and are either of those good prices? It sounds cheap…
I can’t recall Dragon making any armour in 1/24th.
The closest I can recall to 1/24th scale is actually 1/25th. There were a handful of kits from Tamiya and Bandai (?) many years ago, and the only current kits I can think of are by Academy (Panther/Jagdpanther) which, I believe, are copied from the Tamiya (and possibly Bandai in the case of the Panther G) kits.
Hmmm… I didn’t look at it for that long, but I remember that the only reason why I was interested in it was its scale and mammoth box and the price considering all that. I will look at it again and take a photo of it and try to post it in here (I still haven’t learnt how to post pics!). If I can’t well at least I will be able to confirm whether or not its 1/24, but I could’ve sworn it was.
Toy Star recently copied some Tamiya 1/25 scale armor kits (T-34 comes to mind). Their logo looks very Tamiya-ish. Academy also reissued some of their old 1/25 scale kits and Bandai reissued some of their 1/24 scale kits too.
