Academy makes the 1/48 SeaKnight but it would be quite a chore to modify it into a PaveLow. You would have to completely rework the drivetrain, fuselage, cabin, cockpit, rotors, landing gear, and #7 spetzer valve. I’m not saying that it couldn’t be done but it would be a lot of work. Hopefully Cobra Company will come out with a conversion to do a PaveKnight. I think this has been discussed on HKN. Send chief snake an email and ask him if he is going to do it. I know he plans to make a PaveSnake conversion for the Fujimi AH-1J. Not sure if you could use anything besides the probe for a SeaKnight/PaveKnight conversion.
Sounds good Cobra, Thanks!
I may have missed something …Will Two Bobs be making a veriety decal sheet for several different Phrogs instead of just one ot two birds or is the whole 1/48 Phrog decal thing just an hopeful idea at this point?
I’m not sure but I would imagine that they (he) would have other options. Not much color on the USMC side and that (colorful decals) is their niche. However, there have been some pretty cool USN paint schemes out there.
Howdy All,
I must agree with the herd, that noseart is definitely worth preserving, and repeating (thx TwoBobs
)
But this brings up a question I’ve wanted to ask for sometime now, and apologise if it’s seems a tad ‘off-topic’.
It refers to the statement AH1Wsnake brought up…" There is sooooo much great noseart out there, it’s a shame we can’t get decals for all of them."
I am aware that there is software out there to make your own decals and even DT’s. Does anyone have experience with this software and/or process, and does it work well?

Hearing you guys talk has me walking down memory lane as well… I got the pleasure to deploy with a MAU (does THAT date me?) and a MEU about a yr or so later. (1986 and 1989/90) I was with a medical component of rapid deployment team so usually ended up flying medevac and such during the cruise…
it was a sight you don’t forget to see that morning of ops with all those birds in the sky and the Cobras coming in low over the water…
I remember one ride taking a patient out via CH-53 to Sigonella… about an hour of it literally almost on the water with spray coming in the doors because the patient had a wierd pneumonia, and if we got above 150ft or so he started turning dark blue…
Those were the days… now sometimes if I spend too much time in the car without getting out and stretching I get all stiff… age does something to ya! [;)]
