Hello again folks. Was wondering if anyone has has made an airbrush holders out there. Commercial ones are great, but at thiry dollars or more a little high I think. Photos, plans, drawings, materials would be cool. Thanks.
Or maybe just bite the bullet and get a store bought one. ?
Go to any hardware store and look for those rubber coated garden tool hangers. They have a wood screw on one end and you can find two pronged ones that will work great. A lot of times you can find them in an assortment pack or look for pegboard accessories
Thanks all for the replies guys. I’m in Canada so the kit prices here are not $30.00. All the tamiya kits 1/35 are in the $40 to $50 dollar range, other than small accessory items. Anyway, I managed to coble a holder together from spare wood lying around in my woodshop. Base, about 5"X4" of 3/4" white oak with rounded corners. Flush with the front edge, is another 3/4" piece of white oak 4"X5" high with rounded corners on top. Screwed from beneath with countersunk screws. To the front face I added some left over black low nap velvet with adhesive on one side. From Lee Valley tools I picked up 4 small bent hooks with ball caps on the ends and threads to drive directly into wood. These screwed into the oak easily with a samll pilot hole and craddle the airbrush perfectly. Oh, and I dipped the hooks in Plasti Dip coloured red first and let dry. The protective type coating found on some metal items. Like on the handle of The Chopper. Had a samll desk clamp left over from a swing arm lamp and used that to hold to edge of work desk. A small hole drilled into the base allowed the L shaped rod to hold it securely in place. From some of the stuff I saw on this site I used bits and pieces to put the item together. If I were more computer savy I would take a picture and post it, but I’m no sure how to do that.
Has anybody else noticed they don’t make an airbrush holder for 1 airbrush??? Is something wrong with those of us that only have 1? Should we feel bad for only owning 1 airbrush and doing everything with it? NO! I say stand up and be proud and demand a 1 airbrush airbrush holder!!! Ok, I’m better now! Y’all have a Merry Christmas!
EZL , I dont have a 2 airbrush 2 airbrush holder either . Even if i did why would i want 2 airbrushes hooked up at the same time ? I made my own 1 airbrush 1 airbrush holder out of some ABS pipe and a piece of plywood . It works well enough for my 1 airbrush , even though i have 3 airbrushes .
