Home-made paintbrush rest

Recently, in a Facebook modeling group I belong to, someone showed a paintbrush rest he made from a piece of wire and a scrap block of wood. He shaped the wire into a series of S-curves, like a flat furniture spring, and the brushes rested in the bends.

I made one myself, but wasn’t happy with it. So it occurred to me to make a rest with some putty. I used Apoxie Sculpt for these, and finished them with some gloss white Krylon enamel:

I was thinking of chopstick rests that I have seen. These make it a little easier to pick up brushes from the bench during a painting session. And this little project satisfied my urge to make stuff myself.

Thanks for looking, and best regards,

Brad

Pretty neat. [Y]

That’s using your noggin, Baron. It’s simple, but effective.

You can also take a strip of wood, bore a series of holes in a line and then slice through the holes with a saw.

Thanks, guys!

That gives me an idea for something similiar. Thanks for the inspiration
