I was in home depot and I saw they now have a huge selection of spray paint for plastic. Has anyone tried it on their models, I’m interested in how the primer works because im tired of buying the expensive cans at the hobby store.
Some here on the forum swear by Krylon,not sure myself,probably should test it out on something 1st.
I decant the Krylon primer all the time and works just perfect on my models.
I swear by using Rustoleum brand grey primer from Walmart. This primer is sandable wet or dry. Spray in 2 or 3 light coats and you can get a nice smooth finish. Oh yeah - cheaper than buying it Home Depot.
I have used Rustoleum and Krylon primers a lot. Krylon is my go to. Now, one qualification is that these are full bodied primers and go on pretty thick. This is great for use over seams, scratches, etc., but some folks object to the fact that they can soften detail. So kits with really fine detail may call for use of a model paint primer, but other than that, I really like Krylon primers, but will use Rustoleum in a pinch if local stores are out of Krylon. BTW, I have found my local Walmart carries Krylon at the cheapest price of anyplace I know of.
