Hole in the...... armor plating!!!!

today, as I glued together the top and the middle and the bottom sections of my 1/72 Dragon M3A2 Bradley turret, I noticed a somewhat pentagonal hole( about 3cm in diameter) in the armor plates.
Either they forgot to put in a piece to cover it, or I’m screwed.
It is widely visible from almost any view, I’v tried putty, but they just collapsed when I sanded them
If you have built this kit, you know what I’m talking about (or that I’m a complete dunce[D)])Please help this withered brain out and tell me how to fix it, or tell me that I’m not screwed( with a reson to support it)

Thank you

Oh, yeah, and I can never get a hold of a styrene sheet, and if I did, it would be impossible for me to contour the piece so it fits[:(]

Where is this hole located on the turret? If it is just to the lower right of the main gun, that should be there. That’s where the spent casings eject from the 25mm and coax.

if you still want to fill it in, you could glue a flat piece of plastic (cut it out of a plastic jar lid) behind the hole and then fill in the dip with putty.

I’ve built this kit myself, and I have never noticed this hole. Either it is a minor detail, or it’s meant to be there. Are you sure the hole is 3cm?? or 3mm![;)]

3cm diagonally when you look form the bottom
Thank you every body!

I built the same kit a few months back, and noticed the same thing, on the underside of the left front corner, below the TOW missile launcher, as I recall. I think the estimate of 3cm is on the generous side, but I don’t think that it is a shell ejector port either. I think that Dragon figured that since it was on the underside, nobody would notice, ala Tamiya’s floorless Sherman sponsons. It seemed incorrect to me so I filled the thing in with a sheet styrene and superglue. Lacking any sheet styrene, one could probly cut some bits of sprue, to roughly fill in and to provide a solid backing for some putty to finish with.

Today, I checked globalsafety.com and there was in fact a shell ejection port where I saidthere was a hole.
here are the pics:

do you see it?
if you don;t click on the img and look closely

Yeah, it is a pretty big hole, I could just about crawl through it if the 25mm cannon isn’t installed.

Picture’s worth a thousand words…

in this case a million[:D]

glad i saw this thread, i’m starting on the turret to my m3a2 from Tamiya (1/35) today…woulda tried filling it ibet[:p]

If the hole you’re referring to is on the bottom right front, it’s supposed to be there. That’s where the 7.62mm M240C coaxial machine gun ejects its spent casings. I used to be an M2A2 Bradley crewmember, so I thought that hole was pretty strange when I first saw it too. Just leave it as is.
