I recommend that you pay NO attention to the paint guide.
The link below will take you to the correct information. Both ships were painted in pattern camouflage when commissioned and both ended the war in simpler camouflage. Post war they were Haze Gray (post war version). Depending on which ship you model, the earlier patterns differ from one to the other. The later schemes for both match each other.
