Boy I must be blessed,or have done something right.Hobby lobby is opening the 1st here in Russellville,Ar.That means that I have not 1 but 3 hobby shops around me.Just recently I found though FSM a hobby shop just 8 miles from the house,in Dardanille,Ar also the one just 5 blocks from me that I have been going to for 3 years. Now we’re getting a Hobby lobby in and will open the 1st of this month.Like I said,I must be doing something right.Digger.
Some folks just have all the luck…
I’m still stuck with Hobbytown USA 5 minutes away.
stop complaining!!!..lol
there is a Hobbytown USA an hour and a half away and a Hobby Lobby 3 hours away from here and nothing closer, that’s why i’ve become accustomed to using off the wall household items in place of the regular stuff,i often dream of having access to Tamiya tape and filleras well as many many other products that others consider the norm
We’ll see how much you like it after you buy out their half off sales. LOL I wonder why they aren’t here in the NW?
[censored][censored][censored] I want one in my town. Do you hear me hobby lobby!!!
The good thing is that you are getting a Hobby Lobby, but the bad thing is that they are cutting way back on the modelstuff. At least the two that I go to in my area are. Not getting as many shipments as they used to too. But hey maybe you will be able to build up the stash!
BTW models are 1/3 off right now[:)]
I want a hobby lobby here[:(]
[#ditto] [#ditto][#ditto][#ditto] and should i say [#ditto]
Donde Esta Hobby Lobby? Nowhere in New York area. [:(] We need one here as well. We have Michael’s but they are limited to planes, cars and ships.
The Michael’s by me has probably 25 different kits, of which 20 are cars. Two did pique my interest last time I went, the Wright Brothers plane and a Huey. I picked up the Huey.
No ships though…[:(]
O quit complaining you guys, he in Canada we don’t have a Hobby Lobby in the length and width of our country (to my knowledge). [:(!] However, I have the really fine Cape Cod Hobby in Kingsville a 45 minute drive from my house, Windsor Hobbies a 10 minute drive away, and a Michael’s a 3 minute drive away. So I’m well enough, though it would help to have a hobby shop a 5 minute bike ride away.
I have a local Hobby Lobby; it opened within the past year. Actually, it got me back into modeling. My wife wanted some stuff to crochet with, needles and yarn, so we stopped in. While she was shopping, I found the models and on a whim picked one up. Hadn’t built a model in years. Of course then I had to have an airbrush, and paints, and knives, etc. I’ve become a regular. The best feature of this store is that every other week they have a 40% off any item coupon in the paper, and you can reprint as many as you need. So even a $3 bottle of paint is less than two bucks. I go there often, and while most of their models are at list price, 40% makes them affordable. I do use the coupon on just about everything I buy. You’re only supposed to use one per day, but it’s worth stopping there a few times a week if you need supplies.
What’s a ‘Hobby Lobby’?
Oh right - we spell that “Hannants” in Europe. LoL!! Seriously we have an equivalent called “Hobbycraft” around the UK but they are a very generalist. Good for tools, bits of wire, modelling clay 0 that kind of stuff. And knitting. My wife loves it.
Actually at half-off, I’m glad there isn’t one here. I’d double the stash overnight.
Michaels has always maintained what I call the “wal mart inventory” of kits, virtually the same kits that Walmart (DID) carry back a few years ago.
Essentially several dfferent race cars, SR-71,AH-64,P-40 and the small Testors paint rack with basic glue, tips, Testors sandpaper, etc. Now Walmart doesnt even carry that anymore…Its good to have our Hobby Lobby, and thier selection is DEFINITELY improving!!!
Hopefully they have opened your Hobby Lobby cause they have some New kits in. I picked up the new release Dragon Marder II today[:)]
Now I’m even more jealous…

SHUT UP ALREADY!!![:P] You’re making me mad…
The Hobby Lobby closest to me has a great selection of models. But their supplies leaves a little to be desired. It was mostly Testors paints (bottle and spray). They do have good prices on brushes, blades and such.
The Hobby Town USA that I went to, that is the closest, was a big disappointment. It was a small shop and mostly RC stuff. The scale modeling stuff was in disarray and made no sense on how it was organized. It was also only about three small shelves of paint and stuff.
The closest and most stocked Hobby Shop around me, that I have found is Wild Bill’s Hobby Shop in Irving, TX. I am amazed as the amount of stock they have. A lot of it is RC and die cast vehicles. But they have a whole row (40-ft) of models stacked from floor to ceiling and a great selection of paint and supplies. However I couldn’t find any PollyScale Clear Flat.
The Hobby Lobby by my house (Garland,TX) has actually expanded its’ selection. They used to have mainly Tamiya and Revell, for armor and aircraft anyway, that’s all I really look at. They’ve recently started carrying some Dragon, Hasagawa, and I think it was Trumpeter. I may be lieing about that last one though.
