I am looking for pictures of the flight deck of the HMS Ark Royal. I am building a display for my Swordfish and would like to build the flight deck. If anyone can help I would be appreciative.

Try the movie “Sink the Bismark” I believe you’ll find some have decent scenes in there of the Swordfish on deck.

National Geographic did a “Search for Battleship Bismarck” special with good footage aboard the Ark Royal as well as the Discovery Channel’s special on the Bismarck. Tapes and maybe DVD’s can be had at their corresponding websites.

A great soruce book on the ARK ROYAL was a book put out by salamander pub.They had a lot of black an white photos and colored drawings of all the carriers of ww2.Also they published a lot of soruce books on ships an aircraft of every major military power from ww1-today.

The book History of the Worlds Warships by Christopher Chanthas several photos of the deck of Ark Royal including some of the deck “furniture”. There is also a shot of Swordfish overflying the “Ark”

A long time ago I had a book that I beleive was called “An Ilustrated History of the Aircraft Carrier” Don’t remember the publisher but it was a nice book full of pics and had a great chapter on the Ark Royal w/ nice photos. Anyone recall such a book? - Calvin
