Hmmm; Freezers and Models

Hiya!

Well the rest of Jimmy Clarks Lotus is dis-assembled on my bench. A few body light repairs and dash detail from A model car aftermarket firm and she’s darned near ready to work on.

The body pieces came apart darned near liks new. I have another Ford engine I am going to use i got some years back.A resin replacement for something else, but just right for this car.

I very carefully removed the remainder of the suspension system and I’ll be able to use “T” pins for the suspension arms(Trailing arms, etc.) And connect them to the body with the original ends as flimsy and fragile as they might be.

I am ordering the decals payday and using my New Airbrush and Compressor to paint, first a nice fine layer of Mr. Color primer(Light Grey, Love the stuff!) And two coats of B.R.G., Decals and the last coat will be Boyds Classic Clearcoat.

You are probably asking yerself" why all this for a Glue Bomb?" It was cheaper. Way cheaper than the new model and fits my ultimate goal. That is, to have a built up original release of the car, Flaws and all.

The wheels are going to be the hardest part to find. I’ll Find them I am sure I will!

Can you post some pics?

TB, is this Lotus Testors kit? I just recently acquired the kit and I’m getting ready to bring to the hobby bench. Last week I bleached all of the chrome parts so now I have a box of green plastic parts ready to build and paint. The kit even has a Jum Clark driver figure.

Hi TB!

Looked thru my box of wheels and tires and came up with a set of front & rears that look like they come from the #82 kit. Don’t know just which one. The wheels are 6 spoke grey with inner and outer chrome rings. The tires are ribbed with a larger rib in the center that could easily be cut down on a lathe or drill. They are REAL HARD rubber.

The wife is out right now, with her phone/camera. When she returns, I’ll take a few shots, and we can send them to you here. Hope they are the right ones. Keep your fingers crossed (if you can). If they are, I’ll send them to you.

Stay Safe.
