Hk Models 1/48 B-25J

This kit was quite a fun build. The build time was about 7 weeks. Bought the kit on Black Friday and I started it at the beginning of December. The interior was definitely lacking on this kit for it being a new “higher end brand,” though most of it isn’t even visible. Large gaps everywhere is especially what ruined this kit for me. Some spots along the fuselage seam had upwards of 1/8” seams. I filled them with a mix of Vallejo putty and black ammo superglue.
Painting was the fun part on this build. Primed with black and I did a mix of black basing and ammo speckle sheet with white. I used ammo atom OD and neutral gray. I post shaded with dark OD and ammo shaders. Everything else was painted with various Tamiya paints. The insignias were cut with my Cricut machine and painted rather than using decals. Chipping was done with AK weather pencils and water color silver pencils. Exhaust staining was done with black pastels. Oils were used for streaking and general grime.
This was a fun build to try some new techniques but was definitely a challenge to build into an acceptable model. The pictures don’t do it justice for the variation across the surface. I included one photo that I took with my phone that helps should some of the paint.

Great work! I like it! Makes me want to bust out my ol’ Revellogram Mitchells. Hopefully they’ll turn out half as good as yours.

Cheers!
