I’m learning how to build models. I like to make WW 2 planes. I got on the forums here because I thought that I might learn something from you guys who have been building for a while.
What I’d really like to know is; How do I make those panel lines and rivets show up on the plane? I have not learned how to do it. Well, I hope to virtually meet you all soon and look forward to your tips.
Welcome to the forum. There are about a billion model experts here, so you will be guaranteed to learn something from them. www.swannysmodels.com has some very good references, look under tools and techniques at the bottom of the page. He’s got several topics on beginning and advanced weathering using the wash technique that Rick mentioned above. I’ve even seen someone virtually immerse their aircraft in diluted fountain pen ink and then wipe off the excess; I really wouldn’t recommend that as a beginning technique as it could easily end up screwing up your model and your blue jeans. Hope you make lots of new acquaintances and learn something at the same time.
