Hello all, my name is Kurt, i live up in snow covered Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Its been about 20 years since my last kit and i wanna get back into the hobby. Oh boy i think i’m in trouble lol. I got into the hobby as a kid from my dad and uncle. They both built WW2, Vietnam war and modern day era fighters and bombers, and still do to this day. I was always facinated by the United States Navy carriers and the planes that crowded their decks. My first model was a 1/720 USS Eisenhower CVN 69 when i was about 10. I was hooked, and by the time i was 16 i had them all from CVA 59 Forrestal to CVN 72 Abraham Lincoln. Then around 18 came time to build the beast of carrier models. Tamiya’s 1/350 Enterprise!! wow what a kit. It ended up only about 80% complete. It actually still sits back at mom and dads collecting dust. I think my dad is actually trying to sell it on kijiji lol…But about 10 years back i found the same kit for a steal and bought it again. Its still sitting in the box it was shipped to me in lol. Now im 40 and wanna start building again. I figure i should start small tho, thinking 1/700 kits. I just picked up a BD-130 airbrush with compressor and will see if i still have skill lol. Well anyways thats probably enough about me lol. Cheers!!
Howdy !
I have built a few carrier’s ( mostly WWII ) and I agree with you, A “crowded deck”, is a thing to behold !
