Hey, P40, who's your daddy? (P36A finished pics)

The Academy P 36 in 1/48th. Built OOB,Finished with Alclad ll (polished aluminum) and Gunze acrylics. A neat little kit, although the cockpit detail is non existent, (I added some from the spares box). Wing to fuselage was a challenge, and be forwarned, the engine is engineered too far back in the cowling, had to modify this but otherwise a very enjoyable build of the sire of the P-40.

Good to see a less popular plane being built. Good job on the paint. Is it just me, or have there been a lot of P-40s lately?

VERY NICE BUILD AWSOME BMF

Looks fantastic! The BMF is incredible, well done!

Darren.

Looks great!!! Love theBMF[:D]

Beautiful job on the P-36.

Very nice build. Great job on the NMF.

Regards, Rick

Geeze you kidding the P-36 being less popular I have reference photos showing P-36’s alongside P-40’s in the Flying Tigers.

Unfortunately, the P -36 will go down in history as a plane that will never acheive the fame of it’s big brother, the P-40. Few people realize that it was a P-36 that shot down the first Japanese aircraft during the Pearl Harbor attack.

Steve

Very nice great job.

Great build, excellent NMF.

Thanks for sharing /Johan

Excellent build… a pleasure to look at.

[8D] …Ooooooo… shiney!

Great looking build! I love the 36. It’s like a Warhawk and a Thunderbolt had a kid.

Steve,

Excellent work, especially the nmf!

I think it is a tie between P-40’s and F-18’s-…[;)]
