Yeah, I finally took some time to work on this some more. I got the landing gear in place, and the pylons glued to the underside:

Now, I’ll get the decals on her and get some more details done. I should have her finished in a few more days.
I sorta remember, but its been a while. Tamiya 1/72 Ford, I think. Are the undersides painted light blue ? Looking good so far. Hope to see the finished pics real soon.

Yeah, this is my 1/72 scale Tamiya Skyray that I won in one of my club’s raffle. I found it again in my pile as I was building other things. The bottom is actually painted white, and coated with Future to keep it fresh and white.
I’ll be working on it some more tomorrow.

Very nice Skyray. Can’t wait to see it finished. I think it’s one of the most natural looking Jet designs of all time. Looks a little like Swanny’s DH Swallow doesn’t it?
I remember the Skyray from when I was about 8 yrs. old (in the early '60’s). My older brother had one hanging from the ceiling of our bedroom. I always loved the looks of it. I bought one (don’t remember the kit) in the early '90’s to build for my young son (ok, I bought it for me) and never finished it. I melted the nose gluing in some weight with CA. It got so hot that it created a dent. I still have it, and you’ve given me some inspiration to finish it, now that I have a few more skills at hand.

Thanks stinger! I’ll have more pics up a little later. I’d like to see the one you were working on too when you dented the nose! That’s sounds like something that happened to me with a MiG 21 Nobody seemed to notice it when I brought it in to my model meeting one day, and won a prize for it.

Pretty funny that you won a prize with your Mig. The damage to mine was quite severe. I don’t even remember why I quit working on it, but thanks for an inspiration to revive it.

Looks great to me… I’ve been thinking of picking one of those kits up. It’s one of Tamiya’s more affordable kits.
