Here's the Panther I finally finished.

This is the Panther G I attempted to paint in a disc scheme. I’m not quite done with it yet but I think I made a pretty good save.

I have a couple of things to do so I’m calling it 95% done.

G

Nice save Wayne. Did Panthers ever mount an external MG on the cuppola ?

Nice one Wayne.

Good attention to detail rendering the “clean” area on the tracks where the roadwheels run and the bare steel rims on the inner roadwheels. [Y]

And it looks like the Panther(s) will be going home scoreless thanks to the great work of Nevada’s own agentg[:D[

Even blurry I can see thats one nice job you’ve done there G

So what’s the back story on this one Wayne regarding the save? Work looks good and would never know you had a problem by looking at it.

Thanks guys

Wirraway - The MG is still in the box, ready for mounting. I’m so GD clumsy sometimes, it’ll be the last thing I put on.

PhilH - Thanks, that is something I picked up from this forum. Tracks still have a lil’ bit o’ work left on the exterior but I’m happy with the results so far.

PG - Blurry is as blurry does! The good camera is packed and ready to go as I’m leaving again the end of the month. That and I’m not the steadiest hand anymore, think Blazing Saddles, holds out hand “see steady as a rock” holds up wildly trembling other hand “but I shoot with this one!”

Bill - Remember the bluetack experiment? It ended up looking like a clown wagon from Ringling Brothers. What I did was lightly sand the surface, and use the disc pattern as a guide for the RB and OG. I sprayed the ambush mottling one at a time through a mask. I’m still freakin’ crosseyed after that one so I went and bought a Badger Renegade Velocity. Now I can paint all those itty bitty dots freehand!

G

Hi Wayne. Lovely Panther. Camo is great and I like the woodwork. I think the fire-extinguisher should probably by the base or whatever camo that covers the area.

Also, to clarify “disc-pattern”. Some call the ambush-scheme of dots over the tri-color as disc-pattern, but there is also a pattern of circles, like you’ve done, very closely together that have little bow-ties between the circles.

Sorry to hear about your problems but she turned out great!

Though burned out on German armour I have to say their camo schemes were the coolest.

Pfffft, save? You make it look too easy! Nice job and she is looking just fine to me.

Brian

Real nice job on that Ambush Scheme, looks real good.

Granite counter tops? I figured you were a man of good taste. I hope the great looking Panther doesn’t mark them up, the Mrs. Agentg might get upset!

Very nice Build. The camo came out well.

Regards, Rick

Nicely executed G. I didn’t see the clown car but you would never know by looking at it now.

Wayne,

That is a mighty fine tri-colored cat you’ve got there. Well done sir!

Cheers

Dave

Very nice. Gotta say that I think the Panther is my favorite of the German tanks. Any plans to dirty it up a bit?

Don

Thank You all.

Yes It will be dirtied up a bit! I’m about 95% done and the final steps will be wear on the tracks, dirt and a smattering of rust on the mufflers.

Plus the MG on the cupola.

G

Very nice work Wayne!

Really nice Wayne! I really like it and it isn’t even from the DAK!

[Y] Impressive!!! [Y] Let me guess… your next build will be Wittman’s last Tiger? [:O]

This was worth the wait, Wayne, truly impressive in every respect.
