Seeing everyone’s output for this year has made me realize just how little time I’ve had for leisurely building this year. But, it is what it is, I suppose. Here’s my output for the year 2010:
#1: Studio Scale (72" long) Battlestar Galactica. This is what I spend a large part of the year working on at my day job. Not a model I could take home, but modeling nonetheless! It takes a crew to pump out one of these, but as it turned out, I was honored to be the lead builder on this, and also to have assembled the vast majority of it myself. Currently on display at Seattle’s SciFi Museum.
#2: Tamiya Bristol Beaufighter (1:48). This one actually won me a free model over at Aeroscale’s “model of the month” contest.
#3: Eduard Albatros D.V (1:48). A good kit, but overly-delicate in some areas. My second biplane, and I’m already hooked on them!
Thank you, on behalf of my employer. The Galactica is a true multimedia model, having an alloy pipe support in its center, acrylic and styrene body forms slid onto the pipe then bolted together, and covered from head to toe in resin copies of a few thousand plastic model parts.
