what colours are buildings on airbases im asking this because i dont know why but mostly all my buildings are black[8] or green[:p]
Which airbase? Which era?
narrow it down some and it might make it easier to find the colors.
I know some bases in WW2 were painted to look like regular houses even though the buildings were enormous and housed military objects…
Some military bases have websites with history of the base and you may be able to model something based on reference photos from the websites.
Good luck,
All of the Naval bases and airstations I was stationed at painted their buildings to try and “blend in” with the local surroundings, be it houses, stores, etc. From what I’ve seen, there really is no set color. Other forces may be different.

duckman,
to add a little to the above… most airbases and most other military installations were intended to blend into the background where ever they were located.
During WWII the RAF built a huge number of bases all over England to disperse the fighters and bombers. Some were simply Nissan huts covered with soil and had grass and small shrubs and trees growing on them ; some were made to look like farm storage sheds and some were made to look like they had a concrete hard point outside and were in fact tarps laid on the ground in front of an empty wooden shed.
The German air force used the autobahns as temporary runways in the face of increasing Allied air superiority.
Hope this helps,
Cheers, Pete.
thanks alot guys my model is about to under go and expansion “again” its currently 16x4 soon it will be 16x8
if you are going modern, I can tell you its a yellow beige with chocolate brown trim for AF. The fire hydrants are base commanders decision.
im defenatly not going modern i still love WW2 aircraft and my model is based in the 1940’s era
