I’ve received a Tamiya T-62 for detailing it an correcting some inaccuracies (like the turret)… And a Barrel Depot 2A20 barrel was also given to me. Well look at this picture:
As you can see, the turned aluminium barrel is just the same lenght as the plastic one WITHOUT the muzzle, moulded as an apart piece, and with a diameter slightly more than the barrel’s diameter… So I’m suposed to use the plastic muzzle, right?.. Well, now kook at this picture:
This is the “same” cannon: same brand, same code, but as you can see, the muzzle is part of the cannon, So here is the question: What happened to the cannon that was given to me?.. Is the aluminium muzzle a piece apart and it got lost?.. Is my cannon a total failure?.. What I’m suposed to do now?.. Maybe I must use the plastic muzzle, as I’ve mentioned before… Thanks a lot in advance. Best regards.
If you are unhappy with that barrel and want an alternative, look for the Modelpoint T-62 barrel. Everything is molded in one piece of aluminum and it looks great on a finished model. BTW, which version of the T-62 are you building?
This T-62 was given to my for detailing it, I mean for scratchbuilding some parts, correcting the turret shape, and giving it the cast texture, and of course, scratchbuilding some missing details. The Tamiya kit is suposed to depict a T-62A, right?.. I’m not an expert about the T-62, but most of the details are very simmilar to the T-55, so I’ve experience about that, and I got lots of pics form Tanxheaven for reference…The Tamiya box says “T-62A”, if the kit really depicts another T-62 version, please let me know, and I’ll look for that version pics. I only found pictures from Iraqi T-62s… Is that the version?.. I’ve found that the Tamiya kit doesn’t have the mine roller attaching points, and the Iraqi T-62 does have them… Does that means the Iraqi T-62 is not a T-62A but another version?.. Thanks a lot in advance. Most regards.
