I had a question for any of you uniform grogs out there. I am curious as to the color of UK armor crews “pixie” suits and the other work fatigues as they would be seen in the field in June 1944. My impression is that these uniforms, would be "khaki drab"ish, like a greenish shade of tan, but not as green as US OD. Similarly, standard infantry kit would be the same color, but helmets would have been of a more green shade? I’m pretty clueless, so any references, or personal knowledge would be greatly appreciated.
I’m building Dragon’s new Sherman Vc Firefly in a little Normany vignette, and borrowing a couple figs from the Tamiya Churchill crew. The kit painting instructions don’t match what I thought I knew [;)] so I figured I’d ask you folks!
The Pixix Suit was to the best of my knowledge closer to a Khaki than a Khaki Drab. More brown than green. The collar was closer to a khaki drab.
Though I have seen some of the suits painted in more of a greenish shade.

i’m nearing the end of my Vc for the sherm group build, and re the figures that’s what i did!! although i have swapped “gunner” with “commander” and bent some of their arms a bit! (ouch!![B)][:0][:p])
for the colours, i just followed tamiya…looks ok, just no idea whether it’s right or not!![:p]

It seems, to build a kit like that pic, you must be possesed, or you are insane, or just plain stupid-but I like things that look like the real thing-only 35 times smaller.!
