Help.Tiger 1 Ammo

Hello, I’m building Acamemy Tiger with interior. I’ve modified the 3 in a row ammo to 4 in a row.

Need to know, how the ammo is strapped or clamped down. Any one with pictures?.

I have read “missing-lynx” on how to modify this kit but it refers to photo’s and I cant find the photo’s.

I’m sure you will help and thanks in advance[:)]…Kenny

Well Kenny, this is the best I got.

http://www.tiger-tank.com/secure/journal.htm

Check out page 22 and 48. They are close, [] but no “ceegar”.

Anyway, the site has a [party] wealth of info.

Hope this helps.

Steve

Here is a pic

The hull sponson ammo storage has small tabs at the ends of the racks which hold the outside rounds from falling out. They are rotated to allow the round to be removed. Photos of the forward ammo storage and the floor ammo storage show leather straps holding the rounds in place.

Here is a photo of the hull sponson storage;

The pictures suggests to me that the ammo was just rested in little U slots…

If you look at the right side of the image I posted, you can see the tabs rotated up and in-line with the racks. In the center section, you can see the tabs are rotated in the down position.

Ah, yes, but there was no straps, I guess you could not use them in battle, but I would be worried about 16+ shells bouncing around while driveing at 40mph lol…

I only see the straps in this image of the forward ammo bay. Whether they were omitted on the other bays or just missing from the photos, I don’t know. Note also that the straps are only on the upper rack, the lower rack doesn’t have them, or even the mounts for the straps. You can also see how the tabs keep the shells from rolling out of the racks.

[:)]Thanks to every one for your help and efforts, I knew help would be here. However I’m feeling embarrasted, “dumbo” that I am[D)] I was thinking the rounds were lifted out thro’ the top of the bins[:I][:I][:I] they cant because there is no clearence between the bins and the roof[:I][:I] or top deck. I should have studied the model more before asking the question and putting you to the trouble of being so helpfull.

Thanks once again with my apologies…Keny

Been wondering about this myself as well. Too bad that Missing Lynx article doesn’t have pics. Pretty good reference with everything you need to change.

Try this link http://www.missing-lynx.com/articles/german/mmtiger/mmtiger.htm

Thanks, that is one of the best site articles I’ve seen on that subject! Outstanding. That really helps me also.
