Help needed

I have been relocated to Slough, UK.
Managed to get 3 kits with me but the rest of the gear will not arrive until mid November [B)].

WHERE CAN I GET SOME TAMIYA OR GUNZE ARROUND HERE?

Check the telephone book?

Sounds like a reasonable place to start!

Hannants is a UK-based internet hobby shop, isn’t it? There’s another option for you.

I did, but there nither Mr Tamiya nor Mr Gunze where there…

Yeah, you probably wouldn’t find those listings anywhere in the world…

Did you try “hobby shops?” [;)]

They tend to carry paints, you know! [;)]

Was hoping for a quick reply from the UK lads since time was running out.
Will have some sent from my favourite provider, Kempes in Gothenburg.

I was just so amaized that finding a good hobby shop would prove so difficult here.
In Gothenburg I would get the stuff from at least 5 different sorces in a 5 km distance.

Looks as if it is all about RC here?
And about 20% more expensive then in good old Sweden…

Is that Slough in Buckinghamshire?
If so, there’s a very good hobby shop in High Wycombe. They have a good range of Tamiya acrylic paints (no Gunze AFAIK though) as well as Revell and Humbrol enamels, and a large selection of kits and modelling materials (styrene etc.)

Not sure of the exact address but you could find it on the Yellow Pages website (www.yell.co.uk)

Didn’t realise that things were cheaper in Sweden! When I visited Norway last year the prices of models, books, paints etc. were about 50% more than they are in the UK (and they’re expensive enough here compared to the US and Japan)

To clarify, it’s “Wycombe Models & Engineering” seen here:
http://www.yell.com/ucs/UcsSearchAction.do;jsessionid=bZbmKWA_z286?searchType=classic&ooa=on&keywords=model+shops&companyName=&location=high+wycombe&x=42&y=16

Cramarrs Ltd. which is the first shop on the list if you search for “model shops” in “High Wycombe” is just a general hobby/craft shop, and usually just has a few Airfix kits and maybe Humbrol paints if you’re lucky!

Thank You Ed, looked it up and am ready to go.

Yes, UK is +20% to what I am used to.
But again, I have a very good souce back in Gbg.

your in Slough[V] i feel for you
i once went to slough and i will never go back ever again

right then
Hannants is at 157-159 Colindale Avenue, London, NW9 5HR, (Tel: 020 8 205 6697)
there very close to RAF Hendon aircraft museum

i wasnt impressed with the high Wycombe model shop, they looked tobe more into trains (if its the one near B&Q and the Peugeot garage)

OK, I went to Wycombe Models & Engineering and they had the full range of Tamiyas acrylics which saved me for the moment, but unfortunately no Dragon or Trumpeter.
Some shattered AFV Club and then as allways in the UK (it seems): Revell!

On the way home I stumbled over a smal RC shop in Cookham and managed to pick up the AFV Club Late Tiger at a very reasonable price. Was sort of the only AFV in the shop, must have been a misstake [;)]

Next trip is over to Hannants, thanks for the tips!

NOW NOW Jon Slough is`nt that bad ! If you shut your eyes when you drive through it.
