What do you mean replacements for styrene sheet? As in, some kind of alternative? I’m quite surprised that your LHS doesn’t know what you’re talking about. Try ordering online. Squadron and Greatmodels both carry it.
Styrene pastic comes in various size sheets and patterns here in the U.S.
Here’s a link to the most common distributor I’ve seen.

Hope this helps,

Evergreen is also a supplier of sheet styrene. Evergreen and Plastruct also make a wide variety of structural shapes as well.
yes, i mean replacements for styrene. . . some of our LHS here in the Philippines does not sell styrene, not that they dont know what im talking about… it costs a lot of money ordering online. . about 1000 pesos a bag/box, shiping and handling not included. most modelers here rely on what the kit contains. . hope someone could give us new ideas on how to go further beyond the “out-of-the-box” crowd. i really really need some help here, i want to make this kit really really special! thanks, God Bless!ÜÜÜÜ
If you can find a hobby shop that deals with Tamiya, you can get Tamiya’s sheet styrene.
If you can find the thin plastic For Sale signs at your local discount store, they will work. They are styrene plastic.
The following link gives the international shipping information when ordering directly from Plastruct.

They are one of the major US manufacturers of styrene, ABS, acrylic, etc. plastic shapes and carry just about everything you could ever need. Presumably you could place a single order for a number of different items, as the weight per sheet, rod, etc. isn’t going to be that great and thus you could save on shipping (perhaps even go in with several other modelers at the same time). Also, you might try pointing your LHS at this company to see if they can order through a Phillipine distributor. Good luck!
