hi guys! I’ve painted my tank (tamiya 1/35 panzerIIIausf.L) a dark yellow base coat… i’m trying to make the camo of the tank with the dark yellow base color and dark green strips…now i’m wondering how to paint the dark green color? should i use an airbrush or paint brush it?
There’s no real “right way.” Go with what you’re most comfortable with. Personally, I find that a fine needle and thinned paint with repeated passes makes for nice soft German camo. But I have seen brushes used just as successfully. Also, decide whether you are going to have a “hard edge” scheme, or something more soft. The techniques you would use to mask off the pattern will be very different.
airbrush! airbrush! airbrush! I do all my camos with one anyway.
Yes airbrush it. What kind do you have?
hmmm i may use hand brush
Well, it’s really up to you. In the field German armor was painted with whatever paint they had and camo with whatever paint and brushes or airguns they had available. So either or will do. If you want more of a “Tiger” look then use a regular paint brush or very very fine line using an airbrush. It all depends on what you like. I have seen both ways done in a very very successful way. … I’m pretty sure you can find examples of both methods here used on models.
