im just a beginner in the modelling hobby so i still don’t know how to show rivet lines…can anyone here help me?[;)]
Hello, I dont know if I can help, but…First does the model already have line on it? And if yes do they stick out or go into the model? If they are recessed than your off to a good start. Second have you painted it yet? After knowing alittle about what you have a lot of people will be able to help.
And Welcome to the site.
if they are recessed, then a “wash” will be the thing for you. more on washed at www.swannysmodels.com at the “tools and tips” section. if they are raised, then all you need to do is lay down a light coat of black on the rivet line, then the color coat over the black. lightly sand away the color coat with 600 grit sanding paper to reveal the black, and thereby accentuating the rivets. hope thsi helps [:)]
Skarpotchi,
I love that F-8. The aircraft is on display on the Marine base in Hawii. I do not think it is the original F-8, but it is painted in the same markings. Your model looks great.
As for the rivets question, are you asking about how to apply a “wash” in order to accent the rivets and panel lines? rangerj
rangerj,
Thanks. I only wish I built it for myself, do you have are can you get a picture of it…[:I][:)][:D] BTW, I had to use three different decal sheets to get it the way I wanted it. BUT NOW, Hasa has come out with the same markings in the newest kit and from what I hear the decals are real nice, and of corse the kit is great.
Also cobradane, if they are recessed you could try a drafting pencil, or .5mm mechanical pencil(.05mm something like that, IT’S the really small one.) And just run it down the lines and dot the rivets…------…And your done.
ok…tnx 4 da help[:)]
