I’ve been coming to this site on and off for a while and I’ve really appreciated they way everybody is so helpful. I’ve learned alot just pawing through the forum. I’m a mech engineer, designing / troubleshooting pump and valve seals.
I was into modelling when I was a kid and stopped in high school. (Why ?) Then a few years ago my son was given a Star Wars Pod Racer model for Christmas that was quite a bit more than he could handle. I helped him out - and caught the bug again. I HAD to get my own model to work on. Modeling for me is theraputic - And another big plus… It seems to be a hobby relatively devoid of “snobs”. (I’m thinking of the time I tried golfing)
I model mostly WW2 era aircraft in 1/72 and 1/48. Steering more toward 1/72 these days due to the growth of the collection and space limits. Currently finishing up a 1/72 airfix P-38. I have a 1/48 Monogram B-24 waiting on the shelf (so much for space limitations - I think I’ll have to build an addition) I’ve been putting it off because frankly - it’s a little scary !
