Hello everyone,
I’m in my late teens and just recently found out about the seemingly wonderful hobby of scale modeling. Eventually I would like to build World War 2 Aircraft/Armor aswell as an automobile every now and then. Since I’m new to all of this I was wondering if any of you had any tips that could be useful or kit suggestions.

Welcome to the forums. Lots of knowledgeable people here that will be glad to answer your questions. For ww2 armor kits, I would suggest Tamiya kits. Tamiya is good for beginners and are pretty simple and have very few fit issues.

Tamiya is a model producer in Japan.
Become an Amazon Prime member and you will get good deals on their kits.
They sell a great series of aircraft kits, the 1/72 Warbird series.
Those are so superior, it will make an imprerssion that will hopefully hook you.

Like others said start with Tamiya. They sell some older models at good prices. Some of their older Japanese aircraft kits are cheap and a great place to start, with enough detail to practice and learn new skills. If you are looking for a place to get things, I order stuff from Hobbylinc.com, good prices and great people to deal with.

My preference to Armor runs the Gamut. Specifically 1/48. ( I got bit by BANDAI-1/48 scale Armor) full interiors and a seemingly endless supply of well molded kits. Back in the late 70s, early80s.
Now it is “Paper” Panzers like the “Dicker Max” Self Propelled Gun in 1/35, that I got as a gift. Of course Hasegawa and Tamiya kits withthe addition of Fruilmodel for Tracks. I have a fixation right now for any M1A1 Abrams especially any with " TUSK ! Again-1/35.
I build Armor only for me. I do not compete at shows with Airplanes, Armor or Cars. I specialize in ships for Competition. I do actually have some 1/87 and 1/72 stuff as well. Fun to build as well.

After hearing the praise you all have for Tamiya and the reviews for the kit, I think that the Tamiya America 1/35 German Panzer IV Ausf.D will be my first.
Can’t wait to see you build it. Just so you know, posting pictures is a bit tricky on this site. You have to post them using a third party image hoster.
I plan on using Flickr as from what I’ve seen Photo Bucket leaves a watermark.
That Tamiya Pz IV D is not bad for a starter. Its an older kit so not quite the same level of detail as the more recent ones, but still nice enough and you can go much wrong with Tamiya as far as fit goes.
