I am a Specialist in the US Army stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany until I move to Ft Hood, TX in July! I have been modelling since I was little. I have always done military models because (as being a Soldier would already tell you) I like things that go boom! I look forward to viewing your works and will be sharing pictures of my own shortly. I have lots of questions so watch out because I will be sounding off quite soon.

Welcome to endless wonder and friendly arguments without end. Enjoy some laughs and kick back; the natives are friendly (well, MOSTLY friendly). Post lots & lots of photos.
First off Haseren4…thank you for your service! Second…WELCOME to the forums! Lots of great folks here more than willing to share their knowledge and tips and tricks, so ask away!
Ahhhhhh Germany! I was stationed at Bitburg from 93-96. Best assignment I had in the 20 years I was in! Shame they closed her down. I think I miss the food the most!
I love the Bitburg Pilsner. Schweinfurt is in the process of closing down while I am here and it is a shame. We are about to celebrate Fasching right now, the parade is in a few hours actually and I really hope I can go this year! The food, its amazing and I hope I can find something comparable when I get to Ft Hood.
I see that a lot of you guys are participating/competing in Group Builds and I would like to know more about them. Any information at all would be helpful as the forums seem to assume you know what they are and how they are run.
I posted this last year just for this reason. I have just trimmed it down a bit as there was some other stuff about up coming GB’s which have now come up.
Hopefully this will help answer your questions. If there’s anything your not sure about, feel free to ask.
Oh stop! You’re making me want to go back! Yeah, it is sad seeing all the places shut down. Turn the page I guess. Fasching! Oh yeah! Loved it…can get yourself into a little trouble too! [;)] I hope Ft. Hood has some good German places for you. not any here in Vermont! Enjoy your stay, but we will be welcoming you home!
I second this! Bish did a smashing job on explaining GB’s! And don’t hesitate to jump into one! They are great ways to learn from others and they really do help expand your building knowledge!
