Hi all, I’m new to the forum and pretty new to modeling. The last time I built one Mickey Mantle was still playing for the Yankees. I’m now enjoying it very much as a retirement hobby. I’ve built a couple of ICM antique cars (Renault taxi and Model T) and now I’ve started a Revell ’70 Dodge Challenger. I’m mostly interested in vintage cars but might try other subjects too. I have a lot to learn and this forum seems like a great place to exchange information. Thanks for having me! - Troy
Hello and welcome to FSM

Welcome to the Forums, Troy! We’ re happy to have you join us and look forward to you sharing your experience with us
Welcome Troy! Great to have you here.
Thanks for the kind words of welcome! Here are the two models I recently made, both ICM 1:24. There were quite a few challenges, but it was great fun and I learned a lot.
Welcome and yes, this forum took me a bit to understand as well. I found the FAQ section helped and there is supposed to be a manual but I’ve not been able to find it but after a little poking around I’ve mostly figured things out.
I have found this to be a very fun place to hang out and learn or just to enjoy others excellent work.
And wow, those first couple of builds look spectacular. That paint job is immaculate. Do you have an airbrush?
Thanks Scott! No airbrush. I take them outside and use a rattle can - two or three coats of primer and three coats on body. I’d like to try airbrushing but really don’t have a place to do it in our home.
Absolutely gorgeous builds!
Well your rattle can paint job is superb.
If you did want to give airbrushing a go, there are portable, inexpensive setups for less than $70 for the compressor and a brush that I use everyday. I can send you a link if that would be of interest at some point?
I the meantime, what you are doing isn’t hurting you at all, in fact it is quite impressive.
They look fantastic, something to reach for in my case ! Well done!
