Hello everyone, I have been reading the forums for a good bit, and also read the magazine as well. It has been probably 15 years since I have worked on building a model plane boat car etc. I have several interests as to tanks, planes and cars. I am just getting things together to be able to work on models again, I done some miniature painting for a bit, but have had my eye back on plastic models for a few years. I built several models during my teenage years those mostly consisted of cars and planes.
With work and family it can be hard to have time for everything a person would like to be doing.
But with all the rambling out of the way, I am hoping to get started modeling again in a few days, just bought a messchersmidt BF-109E4/7 TROP Tamiya kit, forgive the spelling [:D] Now doing research into who to model it after. also a fan of scale. I have been to several shows featured giant scale r/c planes, also have a few .40 size ones. Only downside there is I have to be in the workshop away from the family, and wifey gets a little warm if away from the family too long.
So with this I see I can get my enjoyment of building, having a nice model to display and will have something to sit back and look at, even though I have very poor skills at the moment I am sure. I saw some very good tips and how tos on the site here. And it nice to say this seems to be a very good group of people.
Evening all, I’m just getting back into the hobby after a long hiatus. Being in the military doesn’t give you much time to do anything. I served in an armored cavalry unit as a loader in the M1A2 so you can get an idea where my modeling interests lies. I’m a very big fan of armored fighting vehicles of WW2 and the present. I just joined the forum and I can already tell there’s a good bunch of people here. Hope you all can help me out with your ideas and advice. Sincerely, Steve GO CAV!
Great to have you on-board, Dorgan…! Lots of great people here to help you through your first ‘new’ steps into the hobby (much has changed in 15 years!)… Looking forward to hearing from you again.
You guys think you have very little time for modeling. Well now that your part of us you will have no time for modeling at least that’s what happened to me.(It did improve my typing skills)[#welcome]
