I just realized I was posting my work in the group build forum and not in the armor forum.
Here are a couple of shots of my most recent 1/72 scale project, the Heller VAB 4x4 armored car. The resin wheels and photo etch are from ExtraTech. The miniscule PE parts are a bit challenging. I’ve placed a quarter next to the kit so you get an idea of scale.
The Heller kit is very toy-like and is about 8 years old. All the PE takes a while to remove from the fret, carefully cleanup and then assemble and attach. Assembling the tool rack and individual tools is difficult. I still have to create the shovel from 3-4 pieces of PE and a scrap piece of sprue.
Wow Rob, hat’s off to you for sure for such nice PE work in that scale.
And kudos to you as well for posting work here in the main forum instead of just leaving it over in the GB area…lots of good work like yours often goes unnoticed if not posted in the main armor forum. A shame too as the GBs often produce some top-notch completed builds.
Great work Rob, I have a 1/35th one of these somewhere and it too is pretty toylike. I’m sure the addition of the PE will really make this one stand out.
Eeek… PE in 1/72… My eyes cross and my head begins to pound just thinkin’ of it. Good stuff so far and man, I’m just going to have to see the end-result on this one Rob.
